Hyundai Genesis Sedan 2009
The 2009 Hyundai Genesis has an all-new structure, along with the latest safety features. The Genesis sedan has clean lines and uncluttered surfaces that look detailed and frankly expensive. The 2009 Hyundai Genesis has styling that takes no chances and is conservative, if not downright bland. It includes 20-inch wheels, advanced adaptive cruise control, HID headlamps with adaptive leveling and proximity sensor, Its standard features such as: eight airbags with active restraints and electronic stability control-normally found on much more expensive cars.

Genesis is a bit larger than most mid size cars. The Hyundai Genesis is going to shake up the market for near-luxury and large sedans. The ride offered no float or wallow, though it was prone to bounding motions over humps and ruts at highway speeds. Genes provides the perfect combination of luxury performance and value for money. The 2009 Hyundai Genesis has impressive power and poise but ultimately lacks sport-sedan edginess.
Interior
The 2009 Hyundai Genesis has an extremely spacious interior, its interior is thoughtfully detailed, with an abundance of chrome accents and soft-touch materials, including a leather-wrapped dash, a feature usually reserved for much more expensive vehicles. The Genesis have its own version of iDrive, placed behind the gearshift, which Hyundai describes as a “user-friendly multimedia system,” accompanied by five or six real buttons for radio control. Its steering wheel stays cool to the touch in extreme sunlight thanks to an ultraviolet reflective wrapping.
It have a Discrete Surround Audio system with high-definition FM and XM satellite receiver and 30-gig hard drive. The Genesis has a central multimedia control to operate the radio, navigation system, iPod interface, trip computer, and Bluetooth phone, among other settings. It uses a large rotating knob and six buttons to select the various functions. The Hyundai system is simpler to use, but it still adds a couple steps to simple tasks such as programming a radio station.
Engine
Hyundai emphasizes the driving performance of the Genesis: three engine choices; two 6-speed automatic transmissions, 5-link independent suspension front and rear, a 53/47 front/rear weight distribution and a stiffer body due to the use of high-tensile steel. Standard engine is 242-horsepower. It has 3.8-liter V-6 engine or a new 4.6-liter, Tau V-8 engine. That engine produces an estimated 360 hp and uses regular fuel.
It has two engines, each engine is mated to a different 6-speed automatic transmission and both shift smoothly, with quick downshifts for passing. The transmission offers smooth shifts and a wide spread of ratios that ideally suit both engine’s characteristics including a tall-overdrive sixth gear for quiet, efficient highway cruising.
Genesis is built on an all-new rear-wheel-drive architecture, its first application in a U.S. Hyundai model. Genesis boasts a near ideal 53/47 front-to-rear weight distribution for exceptional handling and more refined steering characteristics.
Advanced Lighting Technology
The 2009 Genesis offers Xenon high-intensity discharge (HID) headlights. The advantages of HID headlamps include greater lighting power, daylight-type lighting and reduced power consumption. In addition, the cut lines of the new HID headlights are extremely precise, providing maximum nighttime visibility without distracting other drivers. The lamps also feature an auto-leveling function which keeps the headlights level regardless of how the vehicle is loaded with passengers or cargo. Genesis also offers an Automatic Front Lighting System that allows the headlamps to automatically swivel for better visibility when cornering.
